This is pt 2 of our food tour in Istanbul!
Of course we tried some street food,
This is roasted suckling lamb intestines served in a wrap, this went so well with spicy pickled chilis and Ayran, a frothy, cold, salty, tangy yogurt drink!
And fun fact, when you see a coca cola fridge in Turkey, you can almost always find pickle juice and Ayran inside as well! 13/10
these are steamed rice stuffed mussels ands the rice had absorbed all the juices 9/10 soft flavourful
What I loved about Turkish food is it’s full of fresh veggies, herbs, spices,
it’s super vegetarian friendly and they cook very few processed foods.
The stuffed dried eggplants is so flavourful with spices and tomatoes. 12/10 called patlican domasi
This yeast free flatbread called lahmaJun is sprinkled with lemon juice and lots of fresh herbs. 11/10
And this balloon bread was so crispy 10/10 BALON EKMEK
Dessert consisted of sweet candied vegetables and fruits with nuts, it was a bit sweet but had lots of texture! 8/10
And finally, we had Turkish ice cream, which has a gummier texture bc its made with orchard root instead of gelatin, this prevents melting and allows it to stick to the pole for turkish ice cream tricks! 9/10
