How to tie predator flies for Bull Trout, Pike, Lakers, Tarpon, Muskie, Walleye, Bass, Barracuda, etc..... And a wet version in the second video on the profile. Simple easy, versatile effective using water proof (this is key...water proof over water resistant) materials that keep this fly light during casting (without the split shot). Change up the colours of the predator fibre accordingly to the prey you are trying to match. This pattern of course can be fishing in less than a foot of water or as deep as you like by adding split shot to the hook shank and increasing or decreasing your leader length. You can add eyes, hackle, colour with Copic markers. Where ever your imagination takes you on this pattern. The basic pattern in the tying procedure doesn't change. This is likely the most deadly predator fly that I tie for a multitude of species. Just change up the hook size. We have tied these from a #4 to a #8/0 predator hook. The overall length then can be from 4 inches to 10 inches if desired.
