February 2002, Middlesbroughs first home game against Fulham since the 1986-87 season and a 2-1 win for the hosts. Alen Boksic put Boro ahead from an offside looking position with a typically cool and stylish finish following Benito Carbones instinctive through ball. Steve Marlet equalised for Fulham in the second half but Szilard Nemeth made it 2-1 to Boro with a strong shot that beats Edwin Van Der Saar at his near post. The future Man Utd 'keeper then "Rabonas" the ball away in anger!
Boksic seemed to really enjoy playing alongside Carbone. The Italian was a very classy player, the type whom could bring the best out of him (i.e. set him up with loads of chances!)...reminiscent of Juninho & Ravanelli several years earlier.
