For most users of this camera, this probably won't be a deal-breaker but it's likely to be an annoyance for many. While I assume this is software limited, I don't know that for sure. To me, it seems like a sensible way for Sony to push people requiring this level of control up to the AX-100 or higher.

If you own the AX53 and have managed to get this working, please comment below. I'm sure many people would be extremely grateful. If you're from Sony, go and get some new firmware written :-)
