Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com and today we're gonna take a look at the SumoSprings rear axle solo custom helper springs. Now, these are designed to fit your 2016 and newer GMC Canyon and Chevrolet Colorado and then your 2016 and newer Toyota Tacoma. And then finally, your 2005 to 2015 Toyota Tacoma Prerunner and excluding Prerunner. Now as you know, towing or hauling a heavy load can cause rear sag as your factory suspension compresses under the weight of the load. So, this means that the rear axle is trying to support not only the extra load but also the weight of your vehicle.
And because there is less weight on your front axle, your front tires are making less contact with the road, which causes problems with traction, steering and braking. SumoSprings upgrade your vehicle's factory suspension to level your vehicle, improving driving performance and keeping your ride comfortable. These 1400 pound capacity helper springs provide progressive load control, meaning the more that you load them, the stiffer they become. With a lighter load, the springs will compress easily for softer engagement and a less bumpy ride. The closed cell urethane material allows for smooth contact between the springs and your vehicle, and the springs act like a shock absorber to dampen road vibration.
These springs can also compress by as much as 80% to support a heavy rear load and to help your factory suspension bear up under the load. What this does is even out the weight, which levels your vehicle and ensures that your front tires are making better contact with the road. So, a level ride means that you have improved driving control. It ensures safe headlight aim, and it helps minimize sway. The springs can also support your factory suspension, which is going to help prevent sagging and reduces bottoming out.
These springs work independently from one another to support each side of your vehicle. This action helps reduce body roll when you make sharp turns, and this also helps to compensate for off-center loads. So, these microcellular urethane springs are tough. They're going to resist abrasion, oil, salt and UV rays, which can more quickly wear out other springs, and they're going to perform well in temperatures ranging from negative 25 degrees Fahrenheit all the way up to 200 degrees Fahrenheit. Now, these springs compress vertically with minimum expansion to the sides so they won't be damaged by nearby mechanical parts and they will fit safely into tighter spots.
And unlike air springs, these springs require no maintenance or adjustment. So, these down style springs are made here in the USA and are custom designed to fit your vehicle. They are going to install easily with the included hardware that you see here. There's not gonna be any drilling that is going to be required. And as you can see, an instruction sheet is included to walk you through the installation process step by step. Now again, as I mentioned at the beginning of our time together, the weight capacity at 50% compression is 1400 pounds, but SumoSprings will not increase your vehicle's weight carrying capacity. So, you wanna make sure that you do not exceed your manufacturer's recommended weight limit. These do have a limited lifetime warranty, and that's going to conclude our look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.
