You've probably seen the cast iron cookers in the outdoor section of Walmart, right? I have many times over and never thought twice about them. That was until my brother told me about pie irons. After he explained pie irons, I knew they sounded like something I would actually use. Then, I was able to try my brother's pie iron on a campout together and I was sold.

After some research, I settled on the Coghlan's pie iron from Walmart. They seemed like a good option, or so I thought. They come pre-seasoned, have a good locking mechanism, and they're inexpensive. Well, in this case, as the saying goes, you get what you pay for.

If you've had a different experience with the Coghlan's pie iron, I would like to know.
