Employers file the Florida Form RT-6 to report taxable wages and reemployment taxes owed. New Florida employers are assigned an initial reemployment tax rate of 2.7%, which they must keep for 10 filing quarters.
Only the first $7,000 of wages for each employee is subject to the state reemployment tax. Wages exceeding the first $7,000 are exempt wages.
