(Yuva Divas) National Youth Day is celebrated every year on 12 January to inspire the youth and the younger generation of the country. It is celebrated on the birthday occasion of Swami Vivekananda. In 1984, the Government of India declared this day as National Youth Day, and has been celebrated in India every year since 1985.
It was in 1984 the Government of India’s decision to celebrate the birthday of the great Swami Vivekananda, i.e. January 12, which becomes National Youth Day every year. The Government of India quoted Swami Vivekananda’s philosophy and the ideas on which he worked lived and as the inspiration for Indian Youth Day.
The main motive behind the celebration is to create a better future for the country by motivating the youth and spreading the ideas of Swami Vivekananda.
