Germany: Berlin New Year 2023 || Berlin Prepares For New Year Eve’s Celebration after 2 years
Workers mounted a stage in front of the iconic Brandenburg Gate in Berlin on Friday as part of the preparation for the New year celebrations, which would be held for the first time after two years of COVID restrictions. Footage showed the 1793-built landmark, where workers set up a stage with various modern lighting equipment. Catering tents were also seen with police cars guarding the set-up. Traditionally, a public New Year's Eve party is held annually in front of the Brandenburg Gate.
In the past two years, large celebrations, with tens of thousands of visitors, were cancelled due to the COVID lockdown, this year 2500 guests are allowed to attend. The Scorpions and DJ BoBo, among others, are expected to perform as musical guests.
