Credit Suisse Energy Analyst Saul Kavonic says Australia should look at Europe, which is "wary" of energy price caps because it knows more than most "what can happen on price caps".
"And the answer inevitably is no gas becomes available at any price, as you end up with shortages," Mr Kavonic told Sky News host Gary Hardgrave.
