Chicken Poppy Seeds Masala Recipe:
To Soak & Grind:
Poppy Seeds - 1 tbsp
Cloves - 4 nos
Cinnamon - ½ inch
Cardamom - 2 nos
Coriander Seeds - 2 tsp
Cumin Seeds - 1 tsp
Warm Water - As Needed
Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 tsp
Other Ingredients:
Chicken (curry cut) - 500 g
Groundnut Oil - 4 tbsp
Cloves - 3 nos
Cinnamon - 1 inch
Cardamom - 2 nos
Onion (finely chopped) - 2 nos
Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 tbsp
Red Chilli Powder - 1 tbsp
Green Chilli (slit) - 3 nos
Turmeric Powder - ½ tsp
Salt - 1 tsp
Water - ½ Cup
Coriander Leaves - 2 tbsp
Cooking Instructions:
1. Soak all the ingredients under ‘to soak & grind’ (except ginger garlic paste) for 30 minutes in warm water.
2. Grind it into a paste along with ginger garlic paste and set aside.
3. To a pan, heat oil and add clove, cinnamon and cardamom, followed by onion, green chillli and ginger garlic paste. Saute for 2 minutes.
4. Add chicken, turmeric powder and salt. Saute for 5 minutes.
5. Add red chilli powder and mix for a minute. Then add water and bring to a boil. Cover and cook for 15 minutes on low heat.
6. Add the previously prepared paste and mix. Continue cooking for 5 minutes.
7. Garnish with coriander leaves, and serve.
