It's time for our annual Christmas offering and this year it is a quintessential Hymn and a beautiful one that captures the essence of the birth of Christ - Immanuel, God with us through his gift of love - Christ our Lord. The song is - All Hail to Thee, Immanuel, titled in Tenyidie as Niepu Jisu Immanuel.
Reminiscing how we used to sing innumerable hymns and songs as a family in our living room when we were children, here is our family singing the beautiful Tenyidie version of the song. You may note that Tenyidie hymns are the norm still for many Chakhesang households and churches since the first hymn translations were into Tenyidie and hymnal music played a huge role in the conversion of Nagas from Animism to Christianity. We are grateful to our parents for creating this beautiful family tradition of singing together for the joy of it. This Christmas, make some new traditions with your family and may Christ be at the heart of it all.
The story behind the hymn is wonderful. D. R. Van Sickle wrote the hymn "All hail to Thee, Immanuel" in 1910 when he was an unbeliever to show that non-Christians could write Christian hymns. Years later after this hymn was published, he was sitting in church, heard the choir sing his hymn and by the grace of God was converted and became a believer.
We hope all who listen to this hymn as presented by us will be blessed.
All honour and glory to the living God!

1 All hail to Thee, Immanuel,
We cast our crowns before Thee;
Let ev'ry heart obey Thy will,
And ev'ry voice adore Thee.
In praise to Thee, our Savior King,
The vibrant chords of Heaven ring,
And echo back the mighty strain:
All hail! All hail!
All hail! All hail! Immanuel!
Refrain:
Hail to the King we love so well!
Hail! Immanuel!
Hail to the King we love so well!
Hail! Immanuel!
Glory and honor and majesty,
Wisdom and power be unto Thee,
Now and evermore!
Hail to the King we love so well!
Hail! Immanuel!
Hail to the King we love so well!
Hail! Immanuel!
King of kings and Lord of lords,
All hail, Immanuel!
2 All hail to Thee, Immanuel,
The ransomed hosts surround Thee;
And earthly monarchs clamor forth
Their Sov'reign King to crown Thee.
While those redeemed in ages gone,
Assembled 'round the great white throne,
Break forth into immortal song:
All hail! All hail!
All hail! All hail! Immanuel! [Refrain]
3 All hail to Thee, Immanuel,
Our risen King and Savior!
Thy foes are vanquished, and Thou art
Omnipotent forever.
Death, sin and hell no longer reign,
And Satan’s pow’r is burst in twain;
Eternal glory to Thy name:
All hail! All hail!
All hail! All hail! Immanuel! [Refrain]
Amen.
