Hello Everyone
Here is a great chili you can make short notice right before the game. You can easily scale this recipe up to feed more people.
Chili with Beans.
4 servings
Ingredients
1 Tablespoon cooking oil
1 pound (450 grams) ground beef
1/2 white onion
1 clove garlic
1 Tablespoon chili powder
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 Tablespoon brown sugar
1 1 Tablespoon tomato paste
1 - 15oz can pinto beans (can use any bean you like. kidney or black beans would work great too)
1 - 15oz can diced tomato
1/2 12oz bottle of beer (I used stout, but any beer you have will work. can sub stock or water too)
Optional Garnish.
cheese
sour cream
chopped white onion
green onion
pickled chili
chopped tomato
hot sauce
Method.
In pot brown meat slightly over medium high heat. Add onion and cook till translucent. Add garlic and cook another 30 seconds.
Add spices, tomato paste and sugar. sear a few moments in hot oil, be careful not to burn chili or tomato.
Add beans, diced tomato and beer. stir to combine. simmer 30 minutes or untill desired thickness.
serve with optional garnishes.
