After visiting Santorini we wanted to take a small detour to explore another area and we were so lucky to have decided on Crete. What a lovely island!

This is a very fancy, top of the line hotel that does not mess around with its Fine Hotel and Resorts/Luxury Collection status! Everything is thought of, tons of staff members are on hand to assist, and everyone was so pleasant and lovely to interact with. I recommend this hotel without reservation, and if you have a Platinum AMEX there are some nice benefits that you receive which I will detail in the beginning. We received an unbelievable room upgrade that I will share with you in this video.

This is the type of hotel where when we went to town (close enough with a 9 Euro taxi ride) and proprietors ask where you are staying, eyebrows were raised when they find out you are staying here. It likely hosts the creme de la creme of tourists, but the staff are so kind and lovely that just about anybody would feel comfortable staying here.

If you're looking to pair another destination on your trip to Greece, Santorini, Mykonos, Corfu, etc. I HIGHLY recommend coming to Crete for at least 4 days.
