How to paint a baby elk with Suzanne Barrett Justi

elk calving time is almost here. May and June is when elks give birth and soon the North Carolina hills will have more sweet calves for folks to ooooooh and awe over . Why is this so important to me? Well, in June I will be the featured artist at the Twigs and Leaves Art Gallery in Waynesville NC

In todays painting tutorial video, I will paint an 8 x 10 oil painting of an elk calf in hopes of selling it at the art gallery event . I am painting on a smooth gessoed panel which allows to more detail

i am using several Rosemary and Company brushes
the pure red sable in the 81 series was the star of the show. I wanted to give you the link to this brush in case you are interested in getting one for yourself
