This video is of the ride up the Snow Bowl Express Quad (which starts mid-mountain and rises to the summit) and of the ride down Janeway Junction to Drifter to Drifter Link to Old Log Road which runs from the summit of the ski area, all the ways down to the bottom of the ski area.
The Snow Bowl Express Quad is a detachable four-person chairlift located at Stratton Mountain Resort. The chairlift is the main chairlift located on the west side of the mountain, running from about a quarter of the way up the ski area, up to the summit of the ski area. As one of four chairlifts that reaches the summit of the ski resort, the chairlift does serve almost all of Stratton's terrain but is primarily used to lap trails on its western half. These trails are almost all groomers but range greatly in difficulty from the steep double-black Spruce trail to the mellow beginner run, Mike's Way to West Meadow, and about every difficulty level in between. Snow Bowl is the newest chairlift at Stratton, being installed by Doppelmayr in 2018. The chairlift replaced the old 1986 Poma Snow Bowl Triple, which has since been relocated to Magic and is scheduled to replace their old Black Chair this winter.
Janeway Junction to Drifter (both intermediate) to Drifter Link to Old Log Road (both intermediate) is a run of varying difficulties. The trails run from the summit of the ski area, all the ways down to the bottom of the resort. The trail starts off just to the skier's left of the top of the Snow Bowl chairlift off the summit as Janeway Junction. Janeway Junction runs more or less straight down the mountain until merging onto Upper East Meadow. At this point, I connected over to the skier's right onto Drifter (the only option at that time). Drifter is a bit more dynamic than Janeway Junction, featuring many fun curves and dips. The top half is a bit more focused on the dips, while the lower half is a nice and flat trail which is very fun to zoom down really fast on. At the bottom of the trail, skiers merge briefly onto Drifter Link before reaching the bottom of the Snow Bowl Express Quad. At this point, Old Log Road continues to the skier's left of the chairlift. Old Log Road is a pretty flat traverse trail that connects the western half of the resort to the base area. While pretty flat, the trail luckily requires little (if any) skating or hiking. The trail runs past some condos and under the gondola before finally reaching the base area.
