#SHORTS video: Presenting two of my Phalaenopsis orchids collection here in the USA. These orchids lost almost all the leaves. Somehow when I was watering I did not notice that the water accidentally got inside the crown til it was too late. After the water sat there the orchid started rotting and got infected. Loosing the crown the orchid barely recover from it. I immediately put ground cinnamon on the crown to dry it out. It helped but it will never grow a new leaf. Normally this type of orchid it will never survive. But the cinnamon stopped the infection and instead it grow a keiki (baby orchid from the mother plant). The keiki will be detach from the mother plant when it is ready. Having it’s own roots and will wait until it has 4 or more leaves.

Btw, I keep all my orchids outdoor in a shaded area to avoid the heat from the sun in late spring til early fall. This routine is best for my orchids here in my environment at the Pacific Northwest, Washington state. Every location have different planting environment. Great waking up to see such beautiful plant everyday, specially during the pandemic. It is so pretty. When the spike starts opening the flower will last for days, weeks even months. Easy to care, slightly water and only if needed. I use my mister bottle occasionally. Thank you for watching and continued support to this channel. Merry Christmas. Be safe and God bless.
