At just 14 years old, Anirudh Suri is leading a revolution, one cell at a time. The goal of his program, ONE CELL, is to reverse the cycle of incorrect battery disposal, and promote recycling and eco-friendly disposal practices.
Anirudh started ONE CELL, a battery collection and recycling program aimed at schools, with two clear goals: to create awareness for why and how, we should recycle used alkaline batteries responsibly, and to engage with thousands of students across the nation and get the students involved in battery collection. Because almost all batteries are made with a combination of heavy metals and toxic chemicals that can leak into the environment, including the groundwater, around landfills, battery recycling is one of the most important forms of recycling.
