Seems like I never get enough of making these. And I don't, so I am trying to make them from every kind of wood I have at my disposal. This time its a piece of Poplar I brought from Germany in 2020. Nicely dried for almost a year under the lathe!
Really dry it is nothing like Poplar that's wet; it turns really well and the grain pattern certainly beat my expectations. I was also amazed by the finish I managed to achieve using a stick of basic wood turners wax. Anyone who still thinks Poplar is a plain wood?
Let me know what you think!
