Bad Transmission Mount Symptoms. In this video I explain the common signs that your transmission mount may be failing. Bad transmission mounts can cause noticeable vibrations, clunking noises, difficulty shifting gears and other problems in your car or truck.

Recognizing these bad transmission mount symptoms early on can help prevent further damage to your vehicle's drivetrain. Replacing worn transmission mounts promptly can also avoid unnecessary repairs down the road.

In the first section, I cover one of the most noticeable transmission mount issues - excessive drivetrain vibration. You'll often feel pronounced shaking through the floorboard, gear shifter, or seats when accelerating if mounts are worn. Next, I discuss the clunking or banging noises that are indicative of bad engine/transmission supports. Worn mounts allow too much movement in the powertrain, resulting in abrupt knocking sounds when shifting.

Later in the video, I talk about how gearbox mount problems can make smooth shifting difficult or impossible. Bad mounts throw off drivetrain alignment leading to transmission popping out of gear and grinding noises. Excess engine movement during acceleration/braking as well as premature component failure are other symptoms I cover related to damaged transmission mounts.
