So, this build started out a couple of years ago, at that time we had a crazy vision, to record building a 904 Torqueflite automatic transmission, under the blue sky of Jaybo's driveway. Some good friends dropped off our first Torqueflite candidate but once the pan was removed, we discovered heavy rust on most of the steel parts, it was just too far gone, now it just hangs around as extra parts, so that's okay.
The second core we grabbed at Mopars in the Park for the low price of 20 bucks, the owner scribbled, "904 $50", with paint marker, on the bell housing area, I barely touched it and the owner yelled "give me 20 bucks for it, I don't want to haul it home", great, so we tossed it in the back of the truck. Now here's the funny part, it was only after I recorded the complete teardown, in the driveway, that I noticed our $20 904 was actually a $20 727. This totally blew my mind, of course everybody knows the difference between a 727 and a 904. I think I was blinded by the good 20-dollar deal and then blinded with the excitement of finally getting to do our "driveway 904 build". It's not all bad, I scrubbed off the paint marker "904" and listed it on Market place where it sold for $250, so that's okay.
Anyway, here we are at Jeremy's garage, with our 3rd core, the noise from the McGregor Main street project, (jack hammers) and a pine tree that continues to shed needles, right where we want to work, dictated the situation. Over all this will be a crisp, little bang screech unit, once we get her done, so that's okay.....

Do yourself a favor, consider a copy of Tom Hand's book: Chrysler TorqueFlite A-904 & A-727, it's excellent reference material and beautifully illustrated, there's nothing else out there that will spoon feed the step-by-step details like Tom's book. It's available on Amazon but I found my copy on Ebay.
