Welcome to the MrExcel netcast, where we bring you the best tips and tricks for mastering Excel. In today's episode, we'll be tackling a question from Steve in Indianapolis about filling dates in ALL CAPS. Steve asked if there was a way to do this, and I'm here to show you two different methods to achieve this task.

First, I thought we could use the Custom Number Format to convert the date to uppercase. However, that didn't work as expected. So, I came up with a cheap trick - selecting the date and changing the font to one that is in ALL CAPS, such as Algerian or Felix Titling. This will display the date in uppercase, even if it was originally entered in lowercase.

But what if you want to use a different font? Well, that's where our second method comes in. We'll use a formula that combines the UPPER and TEXT functions to convert the date to uppercase. This way, you can use any font you want and still have the date displayed in ALL CAPS. Just enter the formula =UPPER(TEXT(C2,"lowercase/uppercase format")) and drag it down using the Fill Handle.
