Watch as Parents tells you how to start tracking basal body temperature to get pregnant fast! Charting your rise in basal body temperature is one way to see if you are ovulating at that time during the month, increasing your chances of conceiving. Your basal body temperature is simply your temperature when you are at rest, so try taking your temperature at the same time each morning before you get up. A standard thermometer will work just fine for this, but just make sure you are using the same thermometer each day. Pop the thermometer underneath your tongue for five minutes and record your temperature to 1/10 of a degree. Most women before they ovulate have a body temperature between 96 and 98 degrees, whereas after ovulation, their body sits around 97 to 99 degrees. Use a basal body temperature chart from your doctor to record your temperatures. When you see a surge in your temperature, you may be ovulating. Tracking these changes in your body is important if you're trying to get pregnant fast, so plan with your partner accordingly!
