"As an only child, my home in the Tuscan countryside was like an island. Isolated, I explored myself and the things around me with a sense of naivety. This collection is about taking the articles of the everyday and, like Claude Cahun, using them to build an identity: a human still life. Taking traditional Italian menswear from my father's closet, I mix it with my mother's clothes. A shirt collar becomes a waistband; a pair of trousers fuses with a skirt; geometric lines contrast with organic curves.
This marriage of masculine and feminine details produces new forms that become more and more abstracted. Nothing is untouched by the influence of these unseen shapes; every sartorial element is warped in some way. Everything is tried on myself, my friends, and my family. I wanted the cut of the garments to allow for any wearer, even as they change over the course of a lifetime. I turn away from technology, and return to slowness. It is about restoring the dignity of objects and everything that goes into producing them. Accordingly, everything is made in Italy by artisans local to my native Tuscany, whose craftsmanship I respect so much"
