The electoral agency IEBC says the law on presumption of innocence until proven guilty cushions politicians facing integrity questions from being barred from vying for elective positions. IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati said the commission can only bar individuals impeached from office and have exhausted all their appeals. The admission from the commission opening the door for at least 24 top politicians singled out for blacklisting.
