Leaders in Africa have let down the citizens of the each country by having countries with poor infrastructure. Slums are results of poor housing and settlement, something each government is expected to deal with. Slums are the most causes of diseases in Africa. According to data collected by the United Nations in 2012, sub-Saharan Africa has the highest proportion of urban residents living in slums, at 62%, and North Africa at 13.
