Boko Haram Ambush Nigerian Troops | Firstpost Africa
Seven members of Nigeria’s security force tasked with defending infrastructure have gone missing after their unit fought off an ambush with Boko Haram. The counter-attack led to at least 50 terrorists of Boko Haram getting killed. Boko Haram has been waging an insurgency against the Nigerian government since 2009. The insurgency has led to over 35,000 civilians getting killed and more than 2 million people getting displaced. Boko Haram is also known to sabotage power supplies in Nigeria, which is what the unit from Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps was protecting. But with the conflict now prolonging, it is the people who have been bearing the brunt with no potential solution. Watch the video to know more.
