Night Sky Timelapse with partly cloudy conditions.
Used a Canon EOS Rebel T3i and the EF 50mm F/1.8 II lens
Lens and camera set to manual with an f/stop of F/5.0
Shutter speed set to 15 seconds with 2 second intervals.
ISO set to 1600
3.5 hours = 855 photos.
With the cloud cover, the lighting was difficult. I chose a lower ISO and a 15" shutter speed as opposed to a higher ISO and longer shutter speed. Result was a more muted night sky and less star density, but a pretty good timelapse regardless. I also think the stars look alot better. There is a planet there too, but not sure which. I also tethered my camera to my Asus Transformer tablet using DSLR Controller. That is an app that allows me to control most of my cameras functions and settings remotely. Including the ability to set up parameters in how many and how long I want photos taken.
Word of advice...Don't set it up in your bedroom window and expect to get any real sleep. Hearing the shutter release every 15 seconds gets annoying...especially after 200-300 times, let alone 855 times...lol
Enjoy!
