Queensland Treasurer Cameron Dick says Queensland’s cost-of-living relief measures will put “downward pressure” on inflation.
Queensland's state government will plunge its budget into deficit and debt as it plans to spend $11.2 billion on cost-of-living relief, as Premier Steven Miles and Treasurer Cameron Dick fight to hang onto power.
“The advice from Queensland treasury is quite clear,” Mr Dick told Sky News Australia.
“Our targeted cost-of-living support measures … will put downward pressure on inflation, taking one and a quarter percentage points off inflation next financial year.
“We look like lower inflation to two percent in Queensland, which will be the lowest in Australia.”
