Uterine fibroids are common, non-cancerous tumors that form in the uterus or on the uterine wall.
Doctors don’t really know what causes fibroids to develop, so it’s hard to prevent them — but the good news is there are lots of different treatment options, including for people who want to get pregnant in the future.
