I am a huge fan of The Overtakers! They are a 'must see" wherever they perform. They are truly a 'class act'...an uplifting evening you should experience when in Jamaica. I promise you will not be disappointed. Their harmonies are truly fabulous. You will walk away feeling happy and find yourself humming one of their songs for days to come...I know because I do it all the time... I can't help it!!

The Overtakers are an acoustic roots reggae band from Negril, Jamaica. The sound is unmistakably Jamaican; rich in history and positive vibes. While some of their songs are covers of Jamaican folk, calypso, ska, rock steady, or reggae hits, many of their songs are original, written and sung by Ruben Brooks, who also plays acoustic guitar. Ruth Brooks, his wife of 36 years, provides shaker rhythm and high vocal harmony. Leroy Williams adds percussive bass tones from his rhumba box and a unique third part vocal harmony. Paulette Donaldson adds her vocals to this dynamic group for a fabulous and unique Jamaican sound. The Overtakers music is distinctive, authentic, and above all UPLIFTING!!
