The much-awaited celebration of the birth of our Lord is almost at hand. “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given” (Isaiah 9:6). We feel the spirit of the season everywhere – from our Christmas decorations to the social gatherings and family gatherings. We truly have a great reason to celebrate. God’s promise is fulfilled in the person of Jesus Christ born on this day.

Let our acts of charity towards one another remind us of the great gift that God has bestowed upon us. Let the gifts we receive also remind us of the great giver, who gave us the ultimate gift of life.
