Hey everyone! I’m back with my very first thrift flip video where I refashion a plain thrift store sweater into one with a statement neckline by using only materials I got from Goodwill. You can upcycle and refashion sweaters, tops, or dresses this way to give them some new life and wear in this easy sewing project for beginners! You’ll need the item you want to update, plus embellishments to add to it – I took my embellishments off another thrifted shirt for this project. It’s so fun to refashion thrift store clothes or update clothes in your closet this way, so have fun and create a statement sleeve or neckline to give your clothes some pizazz!

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN:
In this thrift store refashion I’ll show you how to upcycle clothes into more updated, stylish pieces! You’ll get ideas for upcycled clothing projects and see how I transformed a thrifted sweater and thrifted top that had holes in it into a sweater with a decorative neckline. You can use this same idea to make statement sleeves too! I’ll show you how to hand sew embellishments and buttons onto your sweater to update them. Details, buttons, and pearls on necklines and sleeves have been very trendy lately so I hope you’ll enjoy updating your pieces this way!

Hi everyone. I hope you’ll enjoy this thrifted refashion video – it’s my first thrift flip video I’ve ever done! I was hoping to get it posted a couple of weeks ago (when it snowed here in NC at the end of February) but it’s taken a little longer to edit than I thought. I still wanted to post it even though I’m heading into Spring (woohoo!) because I know a lot of you are heading into fall and winter and you might like to upcycle sweaters you have! Plus it would be pretty to add details to spring pieces, like maybe some pearl beads onto a pretty spring dress.
I hope you’re all staying safe and healthy. There’s a lot of scary things going on in this world. I’m praying for answers for this coronavirus spread and I hope you all are well. Please take extra time to wash your hands, keep things clean, and stay out of crowds – protect yourself and the people you love! I know it can be hard to keep creating and be inspired when things are scary, but being creative is a great outlet to keep your mind off of things so I hope you’re all able to keep making things and spreading happiness.
Love and prayers to you all!
XO, Monika
