We watch genetically modified zebrafish performing simple learning and choice tasks to identify genes that control behaviour. We focus on impulse control and drug seeking behaviour as these are related to human psychiatric disease. Using this approach we have found a mutation that increases drug seeking behaviour in both fish and humans.
