According to the latest leads, the People's Alliance for the Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) is leading in 103 of the 180 District Development Council (DDC) seats up for election in Jammu and Kashmir. The BJP has emerged as a principle opposition to the PAGD with leads on 75 seats followed by others on 66 seats, the Congress on 24 and J&K Apni Party on 10.
The DDC elections are being hailed as the first major political activity in the Union Territory since the Abrogation of Article 370.
