Badlands National Park in South Dakota was spectacular and so was the FREE CAMPING! RV Camping was free at Nomads View Dispersed which is on National Forest Service, similar to BLM land, about a mile outside of the Badlands National Park. It is about 7 miles from Wall, SD infamous for "Wall Drug". We did a lot of hiking in The Badlands National Park and highly recommend it. South Dakota has some crazy weather so be prepared for wind and occasional hail storms that roll through the area.
There is camping inside of Badlands National Park but we found it to be too expensive for our taste. Not only did we prefer the camping at Nomads View Dispersed, we recommend it if you are okay with wild camping/dry camping.
