Congress leader Jitu Patwari tweeted a controversial statement on his Twitter handle saying, “In a quest for a son, five daughters are born, 1- Demonetisation, 2- GST, 3- Inflation, 4- Unemployment, 5- Recession but ‘Vikas’ (development) hasn’t taken birth yet”. The leader has been called out to compare daughters to poverty, inflation, underdevelopment, and more.

This tweet has received huge backlash and anger is surged amongst BJP leaders and workers in the State of Madhya Pradesh. Numerous BJP workers staged protests against his racist and sexist comment by burning effigy. Jitu Patwari was later forced to apologize and his tweet was also deleted.
