In this video we explain how to expand a disk that was originally in hyper V but is now managed by failover cluster manager. It is important that you use failover cluster manager to expand your disks and not use hyper V because failover cluster manager is the parent in this relationship.
The process to expand a disk volume in failover cluster manager is easy and fast.
Have to shut down the virtual machine first then make sure that there are no checkpoints, which are that's what Microsoft calls their snapshots, then go into the settings of the server in question and failover cluster manager find the disk expand it, power up the virtual machine, then use disk management to expand the volume so Windows can use the new disk space.
