[ Ссылка ] Pine wilt disease is a lethal disease of Austrian, Bosnian, Mugo and Scotch pine trees. Pine wilt disease was first discovered in Missouri in 1979. For over 20 years pine wilt disease has been at epidemic levels in much of Missouri, Illinois and Iowa. The disease has been progressing westward through both Kansas and Nebraska towards Colorado. Since 2010, pine wilt infested trees have been found in increasing numbers throughout the Colorado front-range.
Diseased trees are not treatable and must be removed. Dead and dying trees must be removed by May of that year to prevent the spread of pine sawyers and nematodes. The entire tree including the stump should be removed. The wood must be chipped or buried.
