In June 2021, Sonnedix began the construction of its second largest solar PV plant to date: Sonnedix Meseta de los Andes, of 160MW.
The project - located in the commune of Calle Larga in the Los Andes Province of central Chile’s Valparaiso region - is being built within a 250-hectare land, optimal for the installation of a solar PV plant, and will be connected to the substation of Los Maquis, through a 15km-long 220kv transmission line.
Sonnedix Meseta de los Andes is expected to produce 386,750MWh during its first year of operation, which will allow Sonnedix to power more than 180,000 Chilean homes.
