There are many minimalist shoes coming out these days. Also remember that some of the Van tennis shoes are pretty minimal too. For Primal Nature Play I often choose either the BodyGlove 3T Barefoot Gladiator or the Vibram 5 Finger. For around town I usually wear the Xero sandals. I also like an old pair of Hi Tech cross training shoes that I have worn for over six years. They are almost as minimalist as my Gladiators now, have no arch support or heel lift.
Don't get fanatical about footwear. Find comfortable shoes that allow your feet and ankles to move freely and adjust what you wear to what you are doing and your current level of conditioning.
Remember that when you first begin playing in minimalist shoes you are going to be calling on muscles that have not been activated for a long time. Make the shift to minimalist easy. Wear them a few hours at a time until your condition your feet, ankles and calves. Actually your whole body will adjust to be able to feel the earth better and being able to move more freely.
