🇵🇱 Pozostałości rezydencji Potockich w Antoninach
🇺🇦 Залишки резиденції Потоцьких в Антонінах
Construction period: 2nd half of the 18th century – early 20th century.
Founders: Polish noblemen Court regent of the lesser chancellery of the Crown Ignacy Malczewski, Duke Eustachy Sanguszko, chamberlain of Austria Jozef Mikolaj Potocki.
Historical note:
In the second half of the 18th century, the Malczewski family constructed a palace in Antoniny (currently in Ukraine). When the tenancy expired, they left the Antoniny property and handed it over to Eustachy Sanguszko. As a lover of Arabian horses, he constructed stables opposite the palace. In the second half of the 19th century Maria, the only daughter of Roman "Sybirak" Sanguszko, married Alfred Potocki and was given Antoniny as her dowry. In 1897, at the invitation of Jozef Potocki, architect François Arveuf came to the palace and reconstructed the old building. He also built fencing with Western and Eastern gates.
Jozef Potocki emigrated in 1918 and his workers defended the palace and its collections until 1919, when it was set on fire by the Bolsheviks. Only the entrance gate with the coats of arms "Pilawa" of Potocki and "Pogon" of Sanguszko, a landscape park, a guardhouse and stables have survived.
The “PL-UA. History by drone” project consists of 100 short film productions depicting architectural monuments that were created in the period of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. The series of short documentary films were screened in Ukraine. A Polish-Ukrainian team consisting of historians, journalists, writers, non-governmental organisations and youth joined forces to create the films. Project was financed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland.
