The Los Angeles Rams, fresh off a 6 game losing streak, with almost nothing to play for and most major starters injured, were looking for anything to cheer for. With QB Baker Mayfield's waiving from the Carolina Panthers on December 5, the Rams took a chance on him, unsatisfied with the play of their backup QBs John Wolford and Bryce Perkins. Despite only having about two days to learn the playbook and twenty passes in practice to develop chemistry with receivers, Mayfield played an outstanding game. He moved the ball throughout the game, giving WRs Tutu Atwell and Ben Skowronek career days, and finished two long touchdown drives to come back from being down 16-3 in the 4th quarter.
