Shri Kulapathi Dr.K.M.Munsh

Kulapathi Dr. K. M. Munshi founded Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan on 7 November 1938 with the blessings of Mahatma Gandhi. Over a period of time, Bhavans has grown into a secular, apolitical, cultural and educational organization. It has around 367 constituent institutions, 119 centers in India and 8 centers overseas. About 22,000 members have committed themselves to the Bhavan's ideal " Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam " (The World is One Family) and lives by its code.
In the Galaxy of eminent men of India, Kanhaiyalal Maneklal Munshi is a shining star that still beckons humanity to the path of duty and dharma. As a young man, Kanhaiyalal Manekalal Munshi was imbued with India's greatness. Not yet out of his teens, he learnt from his mother's songs and stories about the sages and seers of India's past. The heritage that these master-spirits represented was ingrained in the young Munshi deeply; and later this incipient perception received an adult dimension. ......

The college started its undergraduate programs in 1993. It offers six Undergraduate programs in BA, BBA, BCA, B.Com, B.Sc (Physical Sciences and Life Sciences), helping students to build disciplinary knowledge, analytical and critical thinking skills. Research projects and field visits are an integral part of the curriculum. The most optimistic atmosphere and excellent quality in education provide work-integrated learning opportunities to the students.

Bhavan’s Vivekananda College offers Five Post Graduate Programs (M.B.A, M.Com, MSc in Computer Science, Biochemistry and Microbiology) for advanced learning, empowerment with practical knowledge facilitating students to develop leadership skills and competitive edge in establishing successful careers. Every program has been designed to enhance the student outcome through research and skill development

Two doctoral programmes leading to award of Ph.D are being offered by the college in the subjects of Microbiology and Biochemistry. The Dept of Microbiology has been granted recognition as a research centre in Microbiology under O.U in the year 2015. Currently 8 students are pursuing Ph.D in microbiology. The Department of Biochemistry is recognized as a research centre by Osmania University in 2019.

The Natural beauty of the premises and enhanced infrastructure of the college enable students to learn communication, negotiation and managerial skills. Taking part in wide and diverse extracurricular activities through various clubs help students to understand the importance of critical thinking skills, time management, academic and intellectual competence.
