The National Police service has positively identified and is in the process of taking action against an officer, captured on video assaulting an individual. The officer was identified during investigations into the incident.
Via the official NPS twitter page, the service has urged the unidentified man, who was seen taking a beating from the officer, to present himself to the Nairobi Area Police Commander to record a statement that will facilitate in the officer's trial in a court of law. Sources tell NTV that the officer under investigation could be the driver of the Makadara OCPD stationed at the Industrial area police station. The video of the officer surfaced on social media early Friday, much to the anger and disappointment of many Kenyans who felt that despite the circumstances of trying to apprehend a suspected criminal, his actions were unwarranted.
