In this video, we take you on a tour of Byblos, Lebanon, the world's oldest continuously inhabited city -- well, at least part of Byblos -- its famous Byblos Castle and the Byblos Archaeological Site, which features a Phoenician Royal Necropolis / Tombs (featuring massive sarcophagi in which the nobility were laid to rest), Bronze Age Temples (including the Temple of the Obelisks & the temple of Balaat Gebal), a Roman Nymphaeum, the King's Well (where Osiris wept over Seth in myths), and a small Roman Amphitheater.
The Byblos Citadel, also known as the Citadel of Jbeil and the Castle of Giblet, was built by the Crusaders in the 12th Century. Today, it stands relatively well-preserved overlooking the city of Byblos / Jbeil, Lebanon, and the Byblos Port. On a clear day, you can easily see as far as the Beirut skyline and far north up the coast in the direction of Batroun.
We also take a short walk through the Byblos souks in the latter part of the video.
If you visit, some cool things to do in Byblos include but are not limited to:
- The Byblos Citadel
- The Byblos Archaeological Complex (featuring Bronze Age Temples, the Byblos Royal Phoenician Necropolis and its massive sarcophagi, a Roman nymphaeum, and a small Roman amphitheater)

There are plenty of fun things to do in Byblos year-round; however, this coastal city comes alive during the summer. You might also want to check out the Byblos Wine Festival.
