Coming up in this film: We Visit the North Yorkshire Moors Railway for their 2017 Autumn Steam Gala on Saturday 30th September. This year's autumn gala, once again had a very GWR feel to it with visiting locomotives: GWR Large Prairie Tank 5199 from The Llangollen Railway, and GWR Pannier 5700 Class 7714, and 1500 Class 1501 from the Severn Valley Railway.

This gala was also the debut gala at the Moors for SR Schools Class 926 Repton, which had entered service a few weeks back, and gone to the Severn Valley Railway for their gala.

As with most Galas, The NYMR did their brilliant runs on Network Rail metals from Whitby to Battersby via Grosmont and Glaisdale, this year hauled by resident B1 61264.

We first start at Pickering where we see 1501 uncouple from Black 5 45212 and the coaches, and heading to the sidings, where she'd do some shuttle services. And then, before leaving see 45212 come round and stop right next to us. She then continued and then, when coupled, we set off for Goathland.
45212 put on a good run, especially leaving Newtondale, on an uphill standing start tender first.

After arriving into Goathland, we change for 7714 and 5199 which were double headed to Levisham. They were a brilliant pairing, and looked brilliant together.

At Levisham, we see 926 Repton arrive, and we take her to Grosmant. She put on a good show over the gradient past Newton Dale towards Goathland, before coasting downhill to Grosmont.

At Grosmont, before boarding our next service, we see 44806 and 80136 top and tailing the demonstration freight service to Goathland.

Then it was time for the run of the day, the Battersby run.
We boarded at Grosmont, where 61264 took us to Battersby with Class 25 D7628 on the back.

61264 put on a great performance despite getting a shove by D7628 occasionally, reaching speeds of up to 45 mph at various points in the journey.
The return was not filmed.

Back at Grosmont, we then board 44806 to pickering, on what will be my last run behind her before she gets withdrawn for overhaul at the end of this year. 44806 ran very well over the arduous 1:49 to Goathland.

We end this film in coming into Pickering.
