Cardiogenic shock is a condition characterized by the heart's inability to pump blood to meet the body's needs.
It can result from damage to the heart muscle, often caused by a heart attack, but can also be triggered by conditions such as myocarditis, endocarditis.
The signs and symptoms of cardiogenic shock include tachypnea, severe shortness of breath, loss of consciousness, weak pulses, sweating, pale skin, cold extremities, and a sudden drop in blood pressure. Patients may also experience a tachycardia, chest pain, and signs of poor organ perfusion, such as confusion or altered mental status.
