On Independence Day 2024, I gained word that two CSX heritage units were in Atlanta that I could possibly see, I was spending the week at my grandparents because my brother had a baseball tournament in Atlanta area. He had July 4th off so I wanted to go out to see the new at the time Georgia Railroad heritage. Atlanta traffic is a pain and I’m sure the Atlanta natives can surely agree.
We get around Marietta and the train is already beat us on one of the overpasses so we booked it over to Smyrna, however M583 never showed up, he stopped at the signal between Marietta and Smyrna. Here is the video of it it idling after meeting B640-02 and W082-03.
