Sustrans is a UK charity providing sustainable transport, but most of the greenways they make are for leisure rather than commuter use. Sustrans has made a great contribution to UK cycling but they could do better if the routes which need it were treated as landscape architecture and urban design, as well as engineering. Walkers use the routes but they are designed more with cycling in mind.
Sustrans routes can and should be classified as The Good, The Bad and The Ugly.
